SeaRaptor is Teledyne's survey-grade deep-water autonomous underwater vehicle, designed to operate at abyssal depths and rated to 3,000 or 6,000 m. It carries out broad-area search with side-scan sonar, hydrographic survey with multibeam and sub-bottom profiler, and high-resolution inspection with cameras and acoustic sonar, supporting search and recovery, salvage, exploration, deep-water geophysical and mineral survey, construction support, marine archaeology and oceanography. In its standard form, per Teledyne's product page, it is about 5.5 m long and 0.63 m in diameter, weighs about 1,000 to 1,200 kg, and carries a 13 kWh battery (16 kWh extended), giving about 24 hours at 3 knots and a range of about 130 km with side-scan sonar; nominal speed is 3 knots and maximum 4. Teledyne's 2025 data sheet extends the family to larger configurations - up to 8 m and 2,000 kg with 13 to 92 kWh of batteries - for 24 hours to 9 days of endurance and over 1,000 km of range, enough for harbour-based operations. Payload ports with serial, Ethernet and power take field-swappable sensors - a Teledyne Benthos sub-bottom profiler, Teledyne RESON multibeam, EdgeTech dual-frequency side-scan, CathX camera, laser scanning and strobes, a Teledyne RDI CTD and Teledyne BlueView forward-looking sonar for obstacle avoidance - and batteries and data storage are removable for quick turnaround. Navigation combines an INS rated at 0.01 percent of distance travelled, a DVL and depth sensor, and GNSS, with optional USBL or LBL; it communicates by Wi-Fi, selectable RF, Iridium and an acoustic modem with over 10 km range. Safety systems include an acoustic pinger, acoustic drop-weight release, satellite locator beacon and RF beacon. Its software is based on the Gavia AUV's, and it can be delivered with a containerised operations facility and a launch and recovery system for high sea states.
