描述
Memo is a home robot from Sunday Robotics, and it is deliberately not a walking humanoid. It rides a wheeled base with a low centre of gravity, has two arms with grippers, and is built to be safe around children: the shell is soft silicone with no sharp corners, the limbs are compliant so you can push them aside mid-task, and the robot has passive stability — cut the power in any position and it stays put rather than collapsing, which a balancing humanoid cannot do. It works in the kitchen. Memo clears tables of plates, cups and wine glasses, throws food scraps away, loads the dishwasher and runs it. It can pull a shot of espresso with crema, and it has recently learned to fold piles of socks. In December 2024 it had one arm and could arrange shoes; the company now trains several skills in parallel and adds more each month. It rests at about 4 feet and can lower to the floor or reach roughly 7 feet with its arms. Software caps the speed at about half a human's natural pace, both for safety in unfamiliar rooms and so engineers can judge precision. The training approach is what sets it apart. Hundreds of people wearing Sunday's Skill Capture Glove record chores in their own homes, and those millions of movements are distilled into the robot's onboard AI — so Memo is meant to work in a house it has never seen, without a human operator watching through its cameras. Sunday says a hand-built Memo costs about $20,000 today, expects volume manufacturing to at least halve that, and has not announced a retail price. Beta testing with about 50 Founding Family households begins in late 2026.
