LokomatPro Sensation is the most fully equipped configuration of Hocoma's Lokomat robot-assisted gait trainer. It has the same foundation as the rest of the family - an individually adjustable exoskeleton orthosis over a treadmill with dynamic body weight support, delivering intensive task-specific repetition that would otherwise need two or three therapists to provide by hand. Hocoma frames what Sensation adds around three senses. Feel: intelligent algorithms adapt the therapy parameters automatically according to how the patient is performing, rather than the therapist adjusting settings between runs. Hear: music synchronised with the therapy, used to hold motivation and engagement through long repetitive sessions. See: a wider set of games and personalised training, giving more therapy options and more exercises than the other configurations. The underlying mechanics are unchanged - hip and knee angles, treadmill speed, body weight support and robotic assistance are all adjustable during training, with natural weight bearing, afferent sensory feedback and physiological vertical displacement through the whole gait cycle. Hocoma cites more than 70 published clinical studies on the Lokomat, 39 of them randomised controlled trials.
