JalaSimha is a tethered underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) from Coratia Technologies for inspection and maintenance of submerged structures such as dams, reservoirs, ports, ship hulls and industrial water intakes. It succeeds the company's JalaDuta with a more compact body and a deeper rating of 300 m. A stereovision system with dual 4K cameras gives three-dimensional imaging for navigation and detailed inspection in turbid water, and a dexterous robotic arm with interchangeable end effectors handles maintenance and salvage tasks. Non-destructive testing tools, a thickness gauge and a laser scaler, measure corrosion, metal thickness and defect size. Coratia's site lists six degrees of freedom, integrated GPS, USBL and DVL positioning, auto-navigation, multibeam sonar and an unlimited tethered power supply. JalaSimha has received a TRL 9 certification, and the Indian Navy signed a contract worth INR 660 million with Coratia in 2025 for underwater ROVs including JalaSimha. The site carries a testimonial from Rourkela Steel Plant (SAIL) on using Coratia robots for reservoir surveillance.
