This customer-specific Inspector Systems crawler detects damage and tears in the rubber lining of rubber-coated or vulcanized pipes. It has three drive units and an inspection module in the middle that measures electrical conductivity through a special brush held at high voltage. Where the lining is damaged, the current passes through the break to the steel pipe wall, and the extent of the damage can then be calculated.
