GC Robotics' spraying robot is a tracked, remote-controlled crop sprayer built to keep the operator out of the spray. Tracks let it cross the soft and broken ground where wheeled sprayers bog down, and it is driven from up to 125 metres away. A 120 kg chemical tank feeds an air-assisted spray head that throws 5 metres high and 12 metres wide, enough to treat orchard rows and field crops from the alley. Power comes from a 5.45 horsepower Chongqing Loncin petrol engine, and the machine weighs 190 kg. It has two travel ranges: 84 metres a minute in high gear for covering ground, 55 in low gear for spraying. GC Robotics presents it as labour-saving equipment for smart farming rather than an autonomous machine — a human keeps the controller.
