Addverb SortIE

SortIE is Addverb Technologies' vertical sortation robot. It runs on a dedicated track and sorts individual packets to destination locations at varied heights - the vertical dimension is the point, because sorting upwards as well as along puts far more destination chutes into the same floor area than a flat sorter. It moves at up to 3 m/s with 3 m/s2 of acceleration and delivers 400 sorts an hour along an aisle of up to 15 metres, handling packets up to 10 kg. A belt drive mechanism with precise motion control does the transfer, and the machine is powered from a bus bar on 220 V single-phase AC rather than carrying a battery, so it does not stop to charge. Addverb sells it as easy to integrate and scalable, with customisable racking to suit the destinations required. Because it runs on a track at speed it is guarded rather than collaborative: safety is by emergency stop, limit switches and fencing. Operating temperature is +5 to +45 C.
