SSi Mantra 3 is the third generation of the SSi Mantra multi-arm robotic system for minimally invasive surgery, developed by SS Innovations in India. The company presents it as a lower-cost way for hospitals to offer robotic surgery. The surgeon sits at an open-face console with a large 3D 4K monitor, a 2D touch screen for system controls and ergonomic hand controllers; head tracking acts as a safety interlock. At the operating table, three, four or five modular patient-side carts each carry one robotic arm, so the number of arms can be matched to the procedure; the carts have parking locks and a touch panel with a digital user guide. A vision cart provides a 3D 4K endoscope system with ICG fluorescence imaging, a 3D 4K display for the operating-room staff, SSi Yantra 3D HD recording, UPS backup and storage for electrosurgical units. SS Innovations lists validated procedures in urology, gynaecology, cardiac surgery (including TECAB and mitral valve replacement), thoracic, general and gastro-intestinal surgery, and the system has been used for telesurgery with a dual console. The company reports more than 230 installations, over 14,700 surgeries, more than 1,400 robotic surgeons trained and over 200 telesurgeries. It is manufactured under EN ISO 13485:2016 with CDSCO manufacturing licence MFG/MD/2024/000827.
