Revolver 860

The Revolver 860 is a heavy-lift armed multirotor drone built by DronesVision of Taiwan. It is an X-8 octocopter - eight rotors on four arms - carrying a rotary weapons bay that holds up to eight 60 mm mortar rounds, which it releases over a target area. DronesVision offers the bay in other calibres as a custom build, and markets the aircraft to military and special-operations users. The airframe spans 1,355 mm rotor to rotor and measures 1,060 x 1,060 x 530 mm unfolded. Arms fold for transport to 1,420 x 385 x 530 mm, which the company says cuts the required take-off area by 51 percent. It is built from multiple aviation-grade composite materials. Empty airframe weight is 13.5 kg; a full configuration reaches about 42 kg, made up of the airframe, two 5.5 kg 48 V batteries, the 7 kg revolver mechanism and 10.5 kg of eight 60 mm mortars. Total thrust is rated at 140 kg. Endurance is 25 to 40 minutes with a full mortar load, cruise speed is 20 m/s (72 km/h), maximum range is 20 km, and it is rated to fly in winds up to Beaufort force 6. A stabilised gimbal carries a 4K camera with 8.29 effective megapixels, 1-10x optical and up to 40x digital zoom, and automatic day/night switching for low-light work. The ground control station has a 10-inch touchscreen, a 10-30 km link, 2.4 GHz communications with optional encrypted frequencies, and can store missions of more than 60,000 waypoints.
