The R2-S1 is the healthcare robot behind R2 Robotics' R2Care line, built for hospitals, clinics and care centres across Southeast Asia where demand for care is outpacing the workforce. It runs on R2-OS, the company's own robotic operating system, and is pitched as a force multiplier rather than a replacement: it takes on continuous observation and logistics so clinical staff can concentrate on decisions and patient contact. Its work is monitoring rather than treatment. The robot tracks vital signs across as many as 200 patient profiles, pairs with FDA-grade wearables and bedside equipment to consolidate fragmented readings into one stream, and escalates through closed-loop workflows with audit trails so no alert is silently dropped. Two analytics functions go beyond observation: cognitive tracking aimed at early detection of Alzheimer's and dementia, and vision-AI nutrition analysis that logs dietary intake automatically. It navigates with LiDAR, depth cameras and ultrasonic sensors, carries a robotic arm for medication delivery and object handling, and presents a bilingual English and Bahasa Malaysia touchscreen. Integration is designed in rather than bolted on, with adapters for hospital EHR systems, a 5G native API for remote consultation, and PDPA compliance for Malaysian data sovereignty.
