MOONDINO XL is the latest version of ARVAtec's solar-powered autonomous rice-paddy weeding robot, built mainly for inter-row hoeing in rice. It carries four solar panels instead of two for more energy and autonomy, and twin wheels - eight hoeing wheels in total - for better traction and stability, greater working capacity and less soil compaction. ARVAtec previewed MOONDINO XL at the Riso festival in Vercelli in September 2026, ahead of its international debut at EIMA 2026. Like the original MOONDINO it is powered entirely by solar energy and weeds rice paddies mechanically and autonomously without herbicides.
