描述

LokomatNanos is the compact member of Hocoma's Lokomat family - the same robot-assisted gait training principle in a smaller, more affordable package aimed at clinics that cannot house or fund the full LokomatPro. Like the rest of the range it drives the patient's legs through an individually adjustable exoskeleton orthosis over a treadmill, with dynamic body weight support taking the load that would otherwise require two or three physical therapists. That is the point of the machine: intensive, task-specific, repetitive gait practice at a volume manual therapy cannot reach. Hip and knee joint angles are adjustable during training, along with treadmill speed, the proportion of body weight supported and the strength of robotic assistance. Hocoma emphasises natural weight bearing, afferent sensory feedback and physiological vertical displacement through the complete gait cycle, with Augmented Performance Feedback presenting the exercises as game-like tasks so the patient stays an active participant. The Lokomat platform is supported by more than 70 peer-reviewed clinical studies, 39 of them randomised controlled trials.
