JOBOT is a tracked unmanned ground rover from Johnnette Technologies for remote inspection of oil and gas facilities. It is driven into pipeline corridors, tank areas and other hazardous zones so that inspections can be carried out without sending staff in. The rover is 62 cm long, 39 cm wide and 25.2 cm high, weighs 11 kg and has 8 cm of ground clearance. It is electrically driven, runs for up to 5 hours and has an operational data-link range of up to 3 km. The body is rated IP67 and works from -20 to 50 C, and the shaft material is titanium. Its sensor suite combines a camera with infrared, ultrasonic, magnetic-flux-leakage, optical and gas sensors, giving visual, thermal, wall-loss and gas readings in one pass. Besides pipelines and tanks, Johnnette lists electrical substation and solar plant inspection, infrared thermography of motors, pumps and transformers, and inspection of high-voltage power and distribution equipment.
