Honey Badger 5.0 is the quadruped robot from MAB Robotics, a Polish company that also builds the motion-control hardware underneath it - MD motor controllers, MA actuators, ME encoders, power distribution and brakes. MAB positions the robot as a universal carrying platform for sensors and tools rather than a fixed-function inspection unit. The IP66-rated construction is built for dust, water and a wide temperature range, and the company describes the 5.0 as a substantially more durable design than the earlier prototype generation. Its body design and control algorithms are aimed at keeping the robot stable over uneven terrain, with integrated safety and self-recovery algorithms for reliability during operation. A modular architecture lets the payload be swapped quickly. The robot carries two onboard computers and an open architecture that MAB offers as a base for developing and integrating autonomous functionality. It measures 50 x 30 cm with an adjustable body height of 13-50 cm, weighs 17 kg, carries up to 5 kg of payload, and runs for up to two hours. Communication is over 5G, Wi-Fi or optical fibre, and it is controlled from a PC or a remote controller. MAB targets industrial inspection, mining, public safety, utilities, civil engineering and academic research.
