guidoo is BEC Robotics' robotic assistance system for image-guided percutaneous biopsies and ablative procedures such as radiofrequency, microwave and cryoablation. Using the patient's imaging data, the physician plans the needle trajectory, and guidoo's robotic arm guides the needle sleeve to the planned puncture site and angle, keeping close to the planned path with virtually no angular corrections; the physician stays in charge of insertion depth, the insertion itself and all clinical decisions. BEC reports needle-placement times of under 20 minutes from the planning scan to the control scan, fewer control scans and greater confidence when placing needles, especially for multiple needles or extreme insertion angles, citing a 2023 study in In Vivo. Placement and overlay accuracy are verified at every installation, the system has completed a first-in-human study, and it was a finalist for the KUKA Innovation Award 2025.
