Float Arm is hibot's long-reach snake manipulator, designed for confined spaces. Using hibot's proprietary snake-motion control and a unique self-balancing mechanism, it navigates complex environments and acquires detailed data for inspection and maintenance. hibot describes it as lightweight, fast and highly portable, so it can be integrated with systems already in the field or used as a stand-alone inspection device. The arm extends to 5 m with up to nine links, weighs 35 kg and carries a 2.5 kg payload. Sensor options include an HD camera, thermal camera, UT probe, LiDAR and time-of-flight camera. hibot began commercialising Float Arm in 2023.
