CHHAYA is Asimov Robotics' stationary humanoid robot torso with an ultra-realistic face. It assists people by answering questions, giving information and engaging customers through arm movements and an active human face covered in lifelike silicone prosthetics, with emotion synthesis. The animatronic face uses a 20-degree-of-freedom mechanism able to produce more than 15 expressions, with phonetics-based lip synchronisation and multilingual natural-language processing. Behaviour and appearance can be customised to mimic any real or imaginary character. The face is also offered on its own as Chhaya-Lite, an animatronic head unit that can be integrated into other humanoid robot platforms of suitable size and payload.
