BAOBAO is MirrorMe's family companion robot and, the company says, the first with two forms: it switches between a humanoid posture and a quadruped gait, so it can sit up to interact and then drop onto four legs to cross an obstacle. That transition is the product. It stands 75 x 40 x 47 cm and weighs 18 kg, with 17 degrees of freedom — a neck moving -55 to 140 degrees, knees and hips through -150 to 150, and side sway from -35 to 25. Joint torque reaches about 33 N·m, it moves at up to 3 m/s, carries about 5 kg while walking and climbs 30 degrees. The interaction hardware is what makes it a companion rather than a platform: an 8-inch touch screen for expressions, four low-frequency resonance membranes and four full-range speakers, voice control, ambient lighting and action editing. Two 8-core processors run it, a 478.5 Wh battery gives 14 hours, and it supports secondary development and OTA updates. MirrorMe also positions it as a preschool teaching assistant.
