PEP3000 is a screening robot rather than a disinfection one: it runs Roborn's 5G AIR PEP system with a thermal imaging lens to find people with abnormal body temperature at whichever location and time it is deployed to. What happens next is the useful part. On identifying a target it alerts the control centre immediately and captures 4K images of both that person and the close contacts standing nearby, which is what makes subsequent tracing possible rather than merely counting cases. It also delivers health information to the public and keeps monitoring continuously. Two technologies underpin the accuracy claim: heat-map noise exclusion, which filters background heat sources out of temperature readings, and AI object recognition combined with thermal scanning to separate hot objects from hot people. It switches between automatic operation and an avatar mode under manual control. Roborn's framing is protective rather than punitive — taking pressure off front-line staff.
