Premex XIO is Muratec's compact smart AGV for moving pallets between processes in factories and warehouses. Its lifter deck takes loads directly from AS/RS cranes and production equipment, so plants can drop conveyors and other fixed equipment that block traffic lines. Although the body is compact and low enough to run underneath production equipment, it carries pallets of up to 1 tonne. The body and turntable rotate independently through 360 degrees, so it can load a pallet from any direction, and its 985 mm turning diameter lets it transfer directly to machines in narrow spaces. Muratec's US site lists a top speed of 120 m/min, a 150 mm lift stroke, navigation by 2D matrix codes, a lithium-ion battery with quick automatic charging and operation at 0-40 C. Many XIO units can be controlled together, which makes the system flexible and easy to back up if one fails. Paired with an AS/RS, a fleet can also form a three-dimensional AGV warehouse that stores and moves shelves of piece-level goods. Safety equipment includes obstacle sensors, warning lights, audible alarms, emergency stops and a three-position enable switch.
