The Joy for All Companion Pet Cat is Ageless Innovation's lifelike robotic cat for older adults, designed to bring comfort and companionship - especially to people living alone or with dementia - without the feeding, litter or vet care a real pet needs. Covered in soft, realistic fur, it looks, feels and sounds like a real cat, and built-in sensors make it respond to petting, hugging and motion with cat-like movements and sounds, including VibraPurr, which sounds and feels like real purring. It comes in three colourways - Silver with White Mitts, Tuxedo and Orange Tabby - at US$159.99, and runs on four 1.5 V C alkaline batteries (included). Joy for All launched the cat at Hasbro in December 2015, and caregivers and peer-reviewed studies report positive effects on isolation, loneliness and cognitive decline.
