설명

The AiMOGA traffic police robot is a humanoid upper body on a four-wheel-drive base, built by Chery's robotics arm to stand at road junctions alongside human officers. It went into service on 14 January 2026 at the junction of Zhongjiang Avenue and Chizhu Mountain Road in Wuhu, badged 'Intelligent Police Unit R001', which AiMOGA describes as the first robot to direct traffic on a public road. It stands 1,950 mm tall and weighs 112 kg, with 16 degrees of freedom — two in the head and seven in each arm — enough to reproduce the standard Chinese traffic-command hand signals that give it its purpose: a visible signal amplifier at a junction, including when the lights fail. The chassis is four-wheel drive, clears 30 mm obstacles and climbs gradients of at least 10 degrees. Perception comes from one 3D LiDAR, four fisheye cameras, two wide-angle cameras and an IMU, with RTK outdoors and SLAM indoors giving about 10 cm navigation accuracy, and 128 TOPS of onboard compute. It connects to the junction's signal timing system so its gestures stay in step with the lights, and a traffic-specific large language model handles spoken interaction: warning cyclists without helmets, answering questions and delivering road-safety talks. Evidence from violations is uploaded within seconds, and a control room can supervise or take over a fleet of units. Two 12 Ah battery packs give about three hours of duty, each recharging in an hour, and the body is aluminium alloy with engineering plastic and biomimetic silicone. A six-degree-of-freedom dexterous hand is optional in place of the standard mannequin hand. Beyond Wuhu, units have worked the Su Super League fixtures in Changzhou ('Chang'an' R050) and Yangzhou, a marathon in Jiangyin, and a bulk deployment in Ordos.
