Viral video of new robot released by Chinese Unitree freaks out social media

NBC News covers a viral demo from Chinese robotics firm Unitree of its new “super athlete” robot, shown handling rough terrain, water, and dynamic movement with autonomous navigation. The report explains intended uses such as cargo transport, scientific expeditions, and search and rescue, and notes the roughly 50-lb platform can carry more than double its weight. It also places the release in context with Unitree’s other well-known humanoid demos and the broader public reaction to China’s fast-moving robot industry.
