The SB-01 is a fully automatic, waterless solar panel cleaning robot from Solabot for utility-scale solar plants. It is designed to clean an entire row of modules every day without water or an operator. The robot travels along the row on polyurethane wheels and sweeps dust off the glass with ultra-soft PBT bristles. Outside cleaning hours it rests on a dedicated docking station and charges its LiFePO4 battery from its own solar panels through an MPPT charger. A command from the plant SCADA system starts the cleaning cycle, and the robot's operating parameters, alarms and reports can be monitored through SCADA over a long-range communication link. Solabot offers a 99.5 percent availability guarantee and a 0.5 percent soiling loss guarantee for the system, which has an IP65 rating. The company lists utility installations for Avaada, O2 Power, Sembcorp and Insolare in India and Renergo in Nepal, without naming the model used at each site.
