Robody is Devanthro's humanoid robot for the home: a machine that an AI drives for routine chores and a human operator inhabits when judgment or empathy is needed. Devanthro has had Robodies living in private homes since early 2024 and is on its third generation of hardware. It stands 1.65 m and weighs 60 kg, with 6-degree-of-freedom arms carrying 1.5 kg each, a 3-degree-of-freedom neck and a two-finger gripper, driven by quasi-direct-drive and Dynamixel integrated actuators. It moves on a differential-drive base, runs for six hours and docks itself, and senses through 4K fisheye RGB cameras, mm-wave radar and a stereo microphone, computing on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin and Orin Nano under ROS 2. Devanthro treats the weakness as a feature: 1.5 kg per arm wins no lifting competitions but is enough to pour tea, carry a plate or hand over medication, and gentle enough that contact with a person is never a risk. The whole body is wrapped in a soft skin that absorbs the inevitable bumps into tabletops and doorframes, fully enclosed so there are no exposed joints to pinch a curious hand. It wears clothes chosen by the family, and it has a face that moves, expresses and makes eye contact rather than a screen or a blinking light. Telepresence is built around embodiment rather than remote control: the operator's VR headset streams stereoscopic video from the robot's fisheye array and every hand motion maps one-to-one onto its end-effector, so the experience is closer to inhabiting a body than to operating a machine. Every session also produces training episodes, which is how the company intends to automate the work over time.
