OlloBot OlloNi SS1

The OlloNi SS1 is a home companion robot that OlloBot calls a cyber pet, and the distinction it draws is that the machine starts things. Rather than waiting for a wake word and a command, the SS1 is built to recognise the people in a household, treat familiar faces differently from strangers, come over on its own, react to a tone of voice or an expression, and build up memories from repeated encounters. OlloBot showed it at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Physically it is small and deliberately toy-like: 343 x 300 x 531 mm and 10 kg, in purple or grey, with a PC/ABS body finished in soft-touch silicone and plush. The face is a 2+1 screen arrangement — two circular eye displays either side of a central interaction screen — over a wheeled base that handles thresholds up to 20 mm and slopes up to 6 degrees on wood, tile or low-pile carpet. Inside are a multi-chip AI system with 16 GB of RAM and 64 GB of local storage on a heart-shaped module, a 4K camera with facial recognition, motion tracking and a physical privacy cover, and a six-microphone array with echo cancellation that picks up voices at 5 m, paired with 5 W stereo speakers. Touch, ambient-light, obstacle-avoidance and fall-detection sensors round it out. A 6,000 mAh battery gives 12 hours or more of standby and about 5 hours of active interaction, charged on a dock or from the mains. The software is Android-based with over-the-air updates, an "Ollo" wake word and an iOS and Android app for remote control and firmware management. OlloBot stresses privacy: processing is encrypted locally, there is a privacy mode, and the robot can work with the company's own AI NAS rather than sending data away.
