Automower 550 is a professional robotic mower rated for lawns of about 5,000 m². The working area is set with a buried perimeter wire. Ultrasonic sensors detect obstacles so it slows before contact. It cuts a 24 cm swathe at 20 mm to 60 mm, cut by 5 pivoting razor blades. Slopes are handled to 45 % inside the working area, 15 % at the boundary. A charge gives about 270 min of mowing and takes roughly 60 min to put back, from a 10 Ah battery. It runs at 67 dB(A), quiet enough to work while people are outside and rated IPX4 against water. The machine weighs 13.5 kg. Husqvarna puts running cost at about 23 kWh a month at maximum use. It is managed from the Automower Connect app over Bluetooth®, Cellular, with firmware delivered over the air. Security is a PIN code, an alarm, lift and tilt sensors, a geofence and GPS theft tracking.
