The AUV-150 is DFKI Industrials' lightweight autonomous underwater vehicle for navigation and inspection down to 150 m, with deeper variants available on request. Powerful electric thrusters and a high-capacity battery allow missions of up to 12 hours depending on the task, and a payload section takes customer-specific sensors. Where suitable it can also be teleoperated over a fibre-optic cable. Optical and acoustic sensors let it inspect pipelines (camera, sonar and 3D reconstruction with a line laser), oil and gas installations and offshore wind-turbine foundations, and the interiors of water tanks and large pipes. It also documents seabed habitats, surveys and maps the sea floor, detects visual anomalies such as discarded metal or wreckage, and reconstructs geological formations in 3D.
