What robots are doing in airports right now
Terminal cleaning and driverless apron tractors are working. Passenger guide robots have mostly ended after trials — and one whole fleet was scrapped when its support ran out.

- Support contracts decide lifespans. A whole guide-robot fleet was scrapped when support lapsed and repairs were impossible.
- Apron autonomy needs infrastructure. Fixed routes, extra cameras and a human for the last metres to the aircraft.
- Weather still stops sensors. Rain and fog have caused false stops; tuning is ongoing.
- Baggage robots lift most bags, not all. Plan for a share still handled by people.
- Security robots have not stuck. An airport patrol-robot trial was not renewed after navigation, badge-scanning and alarm-response problems.
- Fleets are small; targets are large. Judge a vendor by units in service today, not the five-year plan. 私たちの助言
