Overview of the Monarch Robotic Bronchoscopy Platform

Franciscan Health is the first hospital in Indiana to offer the new Monarch Robotic Bronchoscopy Platform. The Monarch uses a familiar controller-like interface – appearing much like a hand-held game device – and combines views inside the lung with computer-assisted navigation based on 3-D models of a patient’s own lung anatomy. The system provides the Franciscan team with continues bronchoscope vision throughout the entire outpatient procedure to help access these hard to reach nodules in the peripheral lung to get patients an earlier diagnosis or to rule out lung cancer.
