X-300 is Graal Tech's torpedo-shaped autonomous underwater vehicle for oil and gas, defence and security, oceanography and environmental monitoring missions. It is built from two carbon-fibre cylinders joined to wet end sections that house the steering and propulsion thrusters and a bladder for changing buoyancy, so it can work as a conventional AUV, a glider or a profiler. Derived from the earlier Folaga vehicle, it keeps Folaga's payload modularity, open control system and manoeuvrability with higher speed, depth and endurance. X-300 is 2,222 mm long and 155 mm in diameter and weighs 29 kg in air, with buoyancy adjustable by +/-0.35 kg. It is rated to 300 m in AUV mode and 150 m in glider mode, reaches 5 knots and can hover at 0 knots, and runs 14 hours at maximum speed or for days as a glider on a 24 V, 1,200 Wh Li-ion battery. The hull splits in two so a neutrally buoyant payload module with any commercial or custom sensor can be inserted without recalibration, and users can host their own Arduino, ARM or x86 board with libraries giving access to all sensors, actuators, Wi-Fi and the optional acoustic modem. Navigation uses GPS, a depth meter and a 3D inclinometer, with radio and optional acoustic links.
