Shinbao No. 1 is the first robot Shin Kong Security built, in 2004, which SKS presents as Taiwan's first security robot. Designed for enterprise use in security and guiding, it combines security monitoring with disaster early warning and also acts as a receptionist. Visitors interact through a touch screen and a speech-recognition system: when someone approaches, it greets them, asks what service they need, and gives introductions and information. At the same time its image-recognition system and sensors watch for intruders and for disasters such as fire.
