BESCHREIBUNG

Moby is Neuromeka's autonomous mobile base, and its reason for existing is to give an Indy collaborative arm somewhere to go. Bolt the two together and the arm's working area stops being a circle around a bench: the pair can tend several machines, carry parts between cells, or patrol. The interesting engineering is in the wheels. Four steering modules, each with two degrees of freedom, drive and steer independently — a quad-drive arrangement that evens out driving forces, holds a straight line and moves the robot in any direction without turning first. Each 200 mm rubber wheel takes 75 kg and draws 350 W, with 400 W steering motors geared 1:70 through a full 360 degrees. It weighs 180 kg alone or 210 kg with an Indy aboard, measures 660 x 960 x 600 mm and carries 40 kg. Navigation is SLAM over 2D lidar with 3D sensing for obstacles, at up to 1 m/s, powered by a 48 V lithium-ion pack of 4,624 Wh. The top plate is meant to be changed: the sensor plate takes different sensors and the work pallet swaps by task, so the same base does delivery, patrol, disinfection or guidance. Options include a second lidar, four bumper switches, an emergency stop, up to four depth cameras and a 2,500 W wireless charger.
