BESCHREIBUNG
SeRo manages the server warehouse at NAVER's GAK Sejong data centre. It loads servers itself, reads each one's asset number automatically, and records its operating history, turning what is usually a clipboard job into a continuous log of what the data centre owns and where it is. It is built tall on purpose — the name says so — because storing assets up to 3 m high makes far better use of warehouse floor. Height and precision usually pull against each other, so the interesting part is the tolerance: vision and precision control let it place and retrieve to within 2 mm. It works both sides of the handover. With GaRo, the transport robot, assets pass between warehouse and server room without a person involved. With people, a collaboration desk called ROBOSTATION separates the work zones so staff and robot can each do their part safely. The combination runs asset management around the clock.
