BESCHREIBUNG
LIBERTY is Microbot Medical's endovascular robotic system: a compact, single-use, remotely operated robot for peripheral vascular interventions. It is intended for the remote delivery and manipulation of guidewires and catheters, and remote manipulation of guide catheters, to help navigate to targets in the peripheral vasculature; it is not intended for coronary or neurointerventional procedures. The system has three parts - a robotic drive, a remote control and a mounting arm. The disposable drive mounts at the patient table and uses AccuGrip to hold wires and catheters securely, working with the physician's preferred guidewires and catheters; the physician drives it with the handheld remote from across the room, seated and away from the X-ray source. Microbot cites set-up in under five minutes, improved ergonomics and no need for large capital investment, since the robot is single-use rather than a capital system. In the ACCESS-PVI trial, remote robotic navigation succeeded in all cases with no adverse device effects and a 92 percent relative reduction in operator radiation exposure. Microbot positions LIBERTY against the radiation and musculoskeletal risks interventionalists face from lead aprons, physician shortages and uneven rural access to care, and sells it with a Starter Kit including clinical training and support.
