Manna 2 is Manna's in-house, all-electric delivery drone, built to fly food, groceries, pharmacy items and parcels from local hubs to customers' gardens in about three minutes. It flies at up to 50 mph (about 80 km/h) within a delivery radius of up to 2.5 miles, hovers above the drop point and lowers the order on a tether, so it never lands at a home, and cruises at about 45 dBA. Every base doubles as a landing pad with fresh batteries: an aircraft can land at any of them, swap its battery in seconds and carry on, forming the Manna Mesh Network rather than a fixed radius around one hub. Three flight computers cross-check each other and a parachute recovers the aircraft if flight cannot continue. Manna has flown more than 250,000 deliveries in Ireland, Finland and Texas with partners including Uber, Deliveroo and Just Eat; press reports a payload of up to about 4 kg.
