BESCHREIBUNG

Diamondback is L3Harris' autonomous reconnaissance and security vehicle, debuted as a prototype at the Association of the United States Army annual meeting in October 2024. It extends L3Harris' platform and mission-system autonomy from air and sea to robotic vehicles that make first contact with threats on land. L3Harris describes the prototype as easily reconfigurable, highly mobile and rapidly scalable thanks to a modular, open systems architecture built around commercial components and mobility - an approach meant to ramp up production, cut cost, improve maintainability and speed technology insertion as missions evolve. It is designed to complement existing classes of robotic vehicles and fill roles and cost profiles associated with crewed vehicles. Its off-road, cross-country navigation comes from partner Overland AI, an autonomous ground mobility company, which provides the autonomy technology for Diamondback's mission systems.
