Kongsberg Sounder USV with gondola
BESCHREIBUNG
This version of the eight-metre Sounder USV adds a gondola beneath the hull, giving hydroacoustic sensors a better mounting position. Like the standard vessel it carries advanced communications, situational-awareness sensors, payload sensors and mission control systems for uncrewed operation. It is designed for six transducers - EK80, EM2040/2042 and Topas PS120 - and a generous moonpool lets payloads be exchanged or upgraded. Navigation and communication systems are common across Sounder configurations, so it can carry Kongsberg sensors for hydroacoustic mapping, positioning, communication, fish detection and oceanographic research, mounted in the hull, moonpool or gondola. Endurance is 14 days on diesel power. Situational awareness comes from a 180-degree camera, object detection and a mechanically stabilised pan-tilt-zoom thermal camera, with centimetre-precision GNSS positioning, dead reckoning if GNSS is lost, 4G, Starlink and MBR communications, and Iridium beacon functionality.
