Kongsberg Sounder USV

BESCHREIBUNG

The Sounder USV is an eight-metre, general-purpose uncrewed surface vessel designed to get the best out of hydroacoustic sensors. It carries communication equipment, situational-awareness sensors, payload sensors and mission control systems for uncrewed operation, and holds more than 200 hours of continuous endurance with a top speed of 12 knots. A spacious moonpool and rack mount make it adaptable: payloads normally sit in the moonpool, but can be fitted in the keel or on the bow, and onboard power generation runs several at once. The hull is shaped to avoid aeration and minimise drag, with a slim bow and stabilising fins to damp roll and pitch and three rudders for manoeuvrability, and the whole vessel ships in standard containers with a foldable mast for quick mobilisation anywhere. It is used for fish finding and fishery research through to seabed mapping, carrying Kongsberg sonars and echo sounders such as the Simrad SX90 fishery sonar and ES80. Kongsberg builds it with hull partner Norsafe, supports it with USV fleet management software, and it is compatible with Vestdavit launch and recovery systems. It won the OSJ Subsea Innovation Award.
