GEEP, the Generator Exploration Platform, is hibot's robot for inspecting generators with the rotor in place, which greatly reduces downtime and inspection costs. It draws on hibot's expertise in mobility in confined and hazardous environments, uses extremely compact custom electronics and benefits from HiBox, hibot's data platform. GEEP operates in a wide range of generators, with entrance gaps as narrow as 22.86 mm (0.9 in) and air gaps of 55-150 mm. It has high-definition cameras for visual inspection and an autonomous navigation mode, can carry additional sensors such as ElCid and tapping sensors to check wedge integrity, and generates continuous 2D or 3D maps of the rotor and stator surfaces so that defects can be located precisely. It is 630 mm long, 320 mm wide and 20 mm thick, weighs 4.7 kg and moves at 150 mm/s.
