G-Gaiter is a robotic gait trainer made by Genrobotics' medical and mobility division for hospitals and rehabilitation centres. It helps patients with walking impairments after stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy and similar conditions relearn a natural gait through repeated, controlled steps. The patient is held in a dynamic body-weight-support harness above a built-in treadmill while powered leg orthoses (an exoskeleton) move the hips and knees. The joints are driven by Genrobotics' patented G-PLOT pneumatic actuation, which the company describes as vibration-free and cushioned, following an AI-generated gait pattern. Therapists choose passive, assistive or active modes, and four effort sensors on each leg measure how much the patient contributes. The system stops automatically if it detects a spasm and monitors vital signs during the session. A screen in front of the patient runs VR and game environments. Therapists manage patient profiles on a touchscreen and export reports on gait speed, range of motion, SpO2, heart rate and session time over USB. The range includes G-Gaiter Standard for adults, G-Gaiter Paediatric for children and G-Gaiter Advanced, which adjusts for both.
