BESCHREIBUNG

Andago V2.0 is a mobile robotic body-weight support system: a self-propelled frame that holds a patient upright and follows them as they walk. Hocoma positions it explicitly as the bridge between treadmill-based gait training and real overground walking - the step where patients usually stall, because the treadmill does not prepare them for turning, stopping, changing direction or navigating a room. It provides dynamic, adjustable body weight support and fall protection, so a patient can walk hands-free and shift weight laterally without the fear of falling that otherwise distorts their gait pattern. That fear is the clinical point: patients who expect to fall brace and shorten their stride, and the movement they practise is not the movement they need to relearn. Four training modes are supported - standing, straight-line walking, self-initiated walking, and walking a path controlled by the therapist - so the same device covers early standing balance through to independent ambulation. No fixed infrastructure is required; it is used immediately in ordinary indoor spaces rather than a dedicated gait lab. For the clinician it removes the job of physically bearing a patient's weight, which is both the limiting factor on session length and a common source of therapist injury. Key training results are displayed on the device and exported over USB for documentation. Hocoma reports adoption at more than 280 facilities worldwide.
