Miko 3 is an AI companion robot for children aged about 5 to 10. A small wheeled robot with an expressive face on its screen, it chats with kids, answers questions, tells stories, plays games, dances and teaches through STEAM learning activities, using deep-learning AI and face and voice recognition to get to know each child. Its sensors let it understand and move around its surroundings, and it is built from a rugged body designed to survive play. Content includes material from Disney and others, with more through the Miko Max subscription, and it speaks English, two variants of Spanish, Mandarin, Italian, German, French and Arabic. Parents control usage, limits and privacy through the Miko Parent app; the camera and microphone can be switched off with one tap, and the platform is kidSAFE+ and COPPA certified. The robot measures about 16 x 14 x 22 cm, weighs about 0.9 kg, plays for 6-7 hours and recharges in about four hours on a 15 W adaptor.
