AQUA-SCANNER is a family of remotely operated unmanned catamarans from i4-Marine Technologies, built as survey and monitoring platforms for dams, reservoirs, rivers, canals, ports and other water bodies. The maker's site shows two versions, the AQUA-SCANNER 500 and the larger AQUA-SCANNER 1000, both described as a remotely operated unmanned catamaran platform. The twin-hull layout gives a stable deck for sensors, and the boat carries an echo sounder for bathymetry along with cameras and data links that stream measurements and video to a ground control station in real time. It can follow a pre-programmed survey path autonomously, or be driven by remote control over shallow water and mangroves, and its battery-electric drive keeps noise low around the sensors. i4-Marine's own IndiaMART listing for the AQUA-SCANNER 1000 gives a fibreglass (FRP) hull of 5.0 m by 2.5 m by 1.5 m, a speed of 6 knots, 4 hours of endurance, operation up to sea state 3 and IP67 protection. The company uses these boats for its own bathymetric survey service, reporting about 30-40 line km of survey per deployment.
