The AFi-M (Autonomous Forklift Indoor Medium) is 4am Robotics' autonomous forklift for material handling across several storage levels indoors. It is built on a Linde L16AC truck converted to driverless operation, carries up to 1,600 kg, lifts loads to 2,600 mm and drives at up to 2.2 m/s, so it can take pallets and load carriers from the floor into racks and feed automated warehouses without a driver. Power comes from lithium-ion, lead-acid or fuel-cell batteries, and the truck connects over WiFi and 4G/5G and speaks the VDA 5050 interface, so it can be coordinated with other automated vehicles and fleet managers. 4am cites a pilot project at a car manufacturer, interaction with existing plant components and the automated feeding of a high-bay warehouse at an automotive OEM.
