The Yale NDR035EB robotic reach truck is a dual-mode, pantograph reach truck that stores and retrieves pallets on its own from rack locations just over 400 inches high. Yale calls it the first of its kind and pitches it at distribution centres facing inventory growth and a shortage of skilled operators. It finds its way by mapping structural features of the building, so it needs no laser reflectors, guide wires or magnets. It can run with no, partial or full WMS integration, and at the touch of a button it switches to manual mode for a side-stance operator. It handles single- and double-deep storage, charges autonomously and works across a wide temperature range. The truck is rated for 3,500 lb with a maximum lift of 401 inches on standard three-stage full-free-lift masts, runs at 36 V on lead-acid, lithium-ion or hydrogen fuel-cell power, and travels at 4.5 mph in robotic mode or 7.4 mph manually.
