The SD45 is the largest robotic floor scrubber-dryer from Peppermint Robotics, a Pune-based maker of autonomous cleaning machines. It scrubs and dries large hard floors without an operator, using the company's Peppermint OS for mapping, navigation and obstacle avoidance, with LiDAR, depth and ultrasonic sensors providing 360-degree safety detection. The machine has a 500 mm scrubbing path with two 150 W brush motors turning at 200 rpm, an 895 mm squeegee and a 350 W vacuum motor, with 45-litre fresh and waste water tanks. Peppermint rates its theoretical productivity at 1,800 square metres per hour at a cleaning speed of 1 m/s. A 24 V, 200 Ah lithium-ion battery gives up to 8 hours of operation per charge according to the product page (the 2026 brochure states up to 7 hours) and recharges in about 9 hours, or faster with an optional fast charger. The robot weighs 280 kg dry, measures 1,255 x 895 x 1,345 mm, turns on the spot and runs at about 73 dB. It has a 100% stainless-steel body, an automotive-grade wiring harness, IPX3 splash protection and a touchscreen interface that can change behaviour by floor type and speed. Peppermint targets manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, airport, retail, hospitality and education sites and sells it in India, the USA, APAC, the Middle East, South Africa and Europe.
