AccioPick Air is a bin-to-person order-picking system from Accio Robotics. Mobile robots travel to tall storage racks, latch on to them and move up the rack to place or retrieve bins, then bring the bins to human pickers at picking stations. The approach is meant to combine the speed of a mother-child shuttle storage system with the flexibility of free-roaming mobile robots. Each robot has a wheeled base, a scissor lift and a bin-handling unit with telescopic arms that reach into the rack. The racks stack goods vertically to about 40 feet (around 12 m), so the system uses the full height of the building. The robots work as a decentralised fleet under Accio's fleet management software, which also gives real-time data on process performance. Accio aims the system at e-commerce, grocery, pharmaceutical, industrial, automotive and third-party logistics fulfilment. The maker does not publish payload, speed or throughput figures.
