XGATEWAY is Rovula's autonomous surface vehicle (ASV), a 10-metre vessel driven by DC motors and fitted with sensors and smart systems for autonomous operation. Operators set waypoints or routes on a control platform, and a satellite internet link connects the boat to the cloud so it can be monitored and controlled from anywhere; Rovula says its autonomous navigation is more precise than manual control. Its navigation suite combines a flight controller, inertial navigation system (INS), AIS, radar, GNSS, lidar and cameras, with AI/ML providing 360-degree object detection for collision avoidance. An echo sounder measures water depth, and a mechanical arm deploys sensors and equipment such as acoustic sensors. Rovula, a daughter company of PTTEP's technology venture builder ARV, offers it for wide-ranging unmanned marine missions alongside its XPLORER AUV.
