The AR series is the arm ROKAE builds for humanoid robots rather than for a factory floor, and the distinction shows in the joint count: seven degrees of freedom with a cross-axis wrist, against the six of a conventional industrial arm. That seventh axis is what lets it reach around an obstacle the way a human arm does instead of only reaching to a point. Force control is the other half of the argument. Every joint carries ROKAE's own HSA integrated force-control joint, giving force accuracy of 0.15 N and 0.05 N·m and a payload-to-weight ratio of about 1:2 — the arm carries roughly half its own mass. In practice that supports single-finger zero-force drag teaching, collision detection sensitive enough to stop and retract on a small force change, and vision-free assembly that finds a fit by feel and relieves stress automatically rather than jamming. Three variants are published: AR3 at 3 kg over a 650 mm radius weighing 7 kg, AR5 at 5 kg over 683 mm weighing 10 kg, and AR10 at 10 kg over 760 mm weighing 18 kg. All repeat to plus or minus 0.1 mm and are rated IP54, with 22 TÜV safety functions, dual encoders and electromagnetic brakes. Camera cabling is routed internally and the end-effector interfaces are open. ROKAE's AR arm was shown to a national inspection delegation in Beijing in February 2026, where a needle-threading demonstration drew state-level recognition.
